Hello all.
Well after my elation yesterday (i had slight dark red blood and it stopped and then i tested positive on 2 tests- very strong lines), today i have just gone to the loo and have darkish pink discharge, blood obviously but not a period.

I am obviously worried but has it happened to anyone here? (Didn't with my other 2)something similar to this happenend once before and i swore i wouldn't test early again! I had my head aroun prenant now though. Not knowing is killing me!!

Yes I did. I also bled on and off lightly for the first 3 months. I worried everytime, but everything was fine

NomDePlumPudding · 24/12/2005 14:50

It happened to me, I was 6 weeks pregnant. We were trying and so knew we were preg very early on (about 4 weeks in). It was New Years Eve 2002, I was v scared and went straight to the EPU and was scanned. All was well and I was told it was implantation bleeding. If I were you I'd go down to your local epu or a&e dept and get it checked out, you don't want to spend Christmas worrying about it.

NomDePlumPudding · 24/12/2005 14:51

Sorry, New Years Eve 2001, DD was born in August 02

SnowmAngeliz · 24/12/2005 14:54

I think i'm only 4 weeks though, it's very early days and the earlies scans i've read are from 5 weeks.
Wouldn't they tell me just to take it easy?

Sorry but what does EPU stand for!?

Angeliz - I had this with dd and that's why I didn't think I was pg.

singersgirl · 24/12/2005 15:03

Yes, with both term pregnancies.

DOH!! Thanks!

Thanks girls, i'll see how i feel in a bit, i want to have a scan but with it being so early am dubious about ringing.

Yes, it was reddish-brown and even though I was pretty sure it was implantation bleeding it still scared me a bit. I also had two episodes of lighter pink bleeding during the first trimester.

SnowmAngeliz · 24/12/2005 17:11

O.K, i rang and the lovely lady in EPC said to get a referral from GP or A+E, so A+E it was and i've just got back.
They took blood and urine samples and a Doctor got me to breathe in and out and lift my legs! I am booked in for Boxing day for an early scan, (it will be internal won't it?) The Doctor said that i haven't had a misscarraige and he can tell that just by those tests but maybe a threatened one

On the positive side, even the nurse who booked me in said she beld for weeks and now her dd is 18 months. So i'm going to just enjoy Christmas with my girls and DP and hope for the best on Boxing day, it's all i can do and worrying now won't help me i suppose.
(Yeah right!!)
Thanks all and have a lovely Christmas!

I had an implantation bleed (DS is now 8) and I have 2 friends who bled all the way through their pregnancies, and went on to complete their pregnancies (babies are now 4 and 2).

Good luck - I hope it all goes well for you.

SnowmAngeliz · 26/12/2005 20:34

O.K, don't know if anyone is bothered but i'm sort of using this as my online diary so here we go.
I went in today and had a scan and an internal scan. The sonographer was very thorough but coul;dn't see anything but the nurse said she thought she saw something but we had to go with the sonographer.
They took blood and told me they'd ring me back. They just rang and said that my hormone level is 512(?) and it 'could' be an early pregnancy,'could' be a misscarraige, or 'could' be an ectopic pregnancy and they need to see me again in 2 days to scan again and take bloods to see if my levels are doubling.

Feel really sad about it all, i think it may still just be a very early days to tell (i hope).
Does anyone know how far on you should be with hcg levels of 512??

Hi Snow, I had implantation bleeding with my little one who is now 6 weeks old.
At the time I was also getting very painfull period like pains so they where sure I was having an ectopic, I was scanned straight away (internally they have to do this when you are very early) but they couldn't see anything so they kept me in over night as a precaution incase anything happened and took several lots of blood from me for my hormone levels.
They told me my hormone levels were that of a normal pg but they couldn't rule out ectopic/miscarriage because of the bleeding and pain, I then went back 2 weeks later and they could see my little blob on the screen so were happy I then went back again a few weeks later and could clearly see the heart beating.

Please please try not to worry slight bleeding is pretty common but is always better to get it checked out just incase, sorry don't know anything about hormone levels but I think that they should double everyday at the begining of pg if that helps.

foundintransleightion · 26/12/2005 21:19

here's a link to hcg levels in normal pregnancy
It says that 14 days post-conception normal hcg levels are between 3 and 426.

mandymac · 26/12/2005 21:20

Yes, I had one around when AF was due, so thought that was what it was (although it was a bit lighter than normal). So it would have been about 2 weeks after conception. DD has just turned 6 months .

foundintransleightion · 26/12/2005 21:22

If you are only 4 weeks (when was your last period?), it is early to see anything, even on an internal scan.
hinking of you and hope it all turns out fine

SnowmAngeliz · 26/12/2005 21:27

thanks,
i think i've just worried abit much over the bleeding and then all the Docs got involved! Oh well, hopefully all will be well in 2 days, (though i'm suprised they're seeing me so soon as if i'm so early, they wont see anything then either!!!

Good luck SnowmAngeliz. I had implantation bleeding with DS (now 4.8) and a bit of spotting with my current pregnancy. So I hope that's all yours is.

foundintransleightion · 26/12/2005 23:07

Angeliz, they prob want to see you in 2 days because of the blood test, and just want to re-scan at the same time!
Got everything crossed for you!
