Fucidin use on a toddler

have been merrily applying fucidin to DD's nose and chin (she has a touch of impetigo) .. for 3 days .. 4 times a day

have just realised its a steroidal cream .. doh

have major concerns over steroid creams especially around nasal passages

how long can I safely use it for?

is it fucidin or fucidin h?

how is little rudi?

assume the H is for the hydrocortisone .. which this one doesn't appear to have (unless butylated hydroxynalisole is an alternative name that is?)

the h is for hydocortisone I think try googling fucidin and impetigo for lot and lots of info - have just been looking myself

Fucidin doesn't contain a steroid, it is the plain antibiotic cream. See here , although you should have a leaflet in your pack. The leaflet says it can be used on the face. Were you given no instructions re how long to use it for? I'd go back to your GP if not.

Fucidin is different to the Fucidin h and as others have said it doens't contain a steroid.

IF it was the fucidin H it'd still be ok to use ont eh face though- it's one of the weaker steroids according to dd's dermatologist

Had to use teeny amounts of fucidin h on DD's chin (suspected impetigo, though gp wasn't sure) for a whole week. Also worried a bit, but was assured by gp and dh (who knows a bit) it was fine. Wasn't in her nose, though, or near it.

Yes, according to Fucidin H leaflet it is OK to use on face too, although there is a warning re length of use with Fucidin H.
