I have had a sore throat now for 10 days.....

No other syptoms, and no white spots in my throat, just red. Have phoned gp but can't get an appt until 29th dec, (dragon lady receptionist doesn't feel it is urgent). Anyone had anything similar/ any ideas. It is really bad in the morning improves during the day then bad again in the evening.

sounds lousy but IME sore throats can linger for ages. Have you tried gargling with Difflam? It's strong stuff and numbs the pain a bit. Cheaper to buy OTC than to pay the prescription charge.

Have had one for 2 weeks! Also accompanied by cough ( now gone) and horrible rash ( still there)
Doc said it was a virus. Not much can do...
