I have had a cold for about 2 months, sore throat, swollen glands in my neck, tonsilitus, cold sores, mouth ulcers, stomach pains, and anything else thats going around. I am exhausted all the time but have wierd dreams that disturb me (this is normal apparntly)

I have got a hospital appointment in Jan, i cant wait as I am sick of feeling crap. And I look pale and yuk too.

I had a nasty virus a couple of months ago which messed my immune system up and although I am taking lots of vitamins they arny helping much.

Is there anything else to do which will boost my system as I feel i need to be doing something productive instead of moaning all the time!

I have even had to defer college for a year as i couldnt make it into classes and am missing to much time.

Thanks xx

I've finally realised who you are!!!!!

Zinc is good for the immune system. Sorry to hear you're feeling crap. Have some Gin!

Twiglett · 20/12/2005 22:16

multi-vitamins and pro-biotics?

tamba · 20/12/2005 22:16

Not gin - mother's ruin!!

SackAche · 20/12/2005 22:18

Yeah Tamba, coz I'm a Mother and I've been ruined by Gin, I didn't realise you were you IYKWIM!

Agree with Twiglett. Sleep, multivitamins, probiotics, and if you can face the horror - exercise.

tamba · 20/12/2005 22:29

OMG excersize (it just took me 3 attempts to spell that and even now im not sure i got it right!)

I have lost almost 3 stone over the last few months which is an upside i guess - a great excuse to buy new clothes!

I got some of those aptimil drinks but they havent seemed to make much difference.

Are you taking a multivitamin with iron? Can't hurt and may help.
Sleep OK?

tamba · 20/12/2005 22:39

Sleeping is really bad - I have the most disturbing dreams (think a dead body in a suit carrier (one of those clear plastic things, filled with egg noodles and maggots!) Not nice. But the doctor said to expect that as its quite a common thing when you are generally unwell.

I have iron tablets but they give me tummy ache, and i have some rowntrees multi vitamins, yummy

I dont even know how igot the origional virus, months ago that has led to all this!

you could try substituting the iron tablets for flourodix (from health food shops) which is gentler on the stomach

but careful you don't take a multivitamin with iron on top of it

Twiglett · 20/12/2005 22:42

lots of fresh veg and fruit

tamba · 20/12/2005 22:42

I may be doing that twiglett - thats not good then! It had never even crossed my mind.
