OK, I thought I would be good and finally sort out my PCOS as have lived with it for 12 years and through clomid have children. My hairy chin was getting worse and was about to take orbital sander to it. Went to Dr's and am on 500 mg twice a day, feel sick as a dog and the runs to boot, any advice out there for dosage or tips to eat as no appetite and only day 4?? Should I jack it in as feeling bloody awful, will it get better ? Would appreciate any advice as thoroughly fed up........

Its pretty crappy stuff tbh, my hubby takes it for his diabetes and it gives him an upset stomach too.
If he is off it for any reason i.e. ill then it is worse when he starts it again so he takes one tablet for a few days then two then back up to three. he also takes it just after he eats.
So maybe you could try taking one tablet for a while then up it to two
Hope that may help :)

You poor thing. It is horrid when you first take it. I have taken it before as well for PCOS, had to come off it when I accidentally became pregnant and I'm toying with going on it again, but the stomach cramps for 4 weeks has put me off.

I am surprised the GP told you to take 500mg twice a day to start with though. I saw an endocrinologist to get it prescribed, and he advised to take one tablet a day for a week, one twice for a week, three once a day for a week then 2 twice a day from them on.

The stomach cramps/diarrhoea and feeling ill does go away after a few days, so please try and stick with it if you can.

I lost 2 stone pretty quickly while on it, and the symptoms did receed, hell I even managed to get pregnant as a result ater lots an lots of chlomid for my other two kids.

very sorry for late reply, bloody adsl!! fixed no and sadly came off metformin as was being too sick. So will go back and saw something about slow release and start low and build up, can see you would lose weight as no appetite and could not look at food. Will see how it goes, thank you all. xx
