Mummy I'm tired and can't walk

Ds will normally walk anywhere and everywhere. We haven't used his buggy for around a year - he's 3 in Feb.

Recently I've noticed he seems very tired, rubbing eyes, glazing over, happy to sit and watch TV, can't get very far on his trike, keeps asking to be picked up when out for walks.

He has cream on every day for his skin, and I normally massage his legs at the same time. he won't let me - says his legs are sore and hurt.

His shoes are the right size, he is sleeping well at night, but isn't asking for a nap (gave those up as soon as he started walking).

But is there any point in taking him to the doctors with only the information I have given you just now?

My dd got glandular fever just before she was 3 and tiredness was the first symptom. Have you checked his glands? Tell him to look up at the ceiling and it will be obvious if his glands are up. On a less dramatic vibe. Has he had a bug, that can knock them out for a while after the bug has gone?

He had a bad cough and cold 3 weeks ago - my dad is back in the UK but is still sleeping 20 hours a day with it - but he has ME and depression which complicates things. He's asleep but i might go and fiddle with his glands.

It could be a post viral syndrome, another virus itself or there is also a virus which affects the hip joints I'll see if I can reference to it

Maybe you have been doing alot more with Christmas approaching? He maybe a bit under the weather and just tired.
If you are worried then take him to see the Doctor

He's not done any more recently, the weather is lovely and sunny and summery and he is eating lots of fruit and veg. If he was at school or kindy I would put it down to end of term/academic year malaise, but nothing has changed for him.

I have had a think, and he's not tired all the time - for instance he might sing lustily for 10 minutes or climb up a ladder at the park, and then he will just lie down and say "I'm worn out now".

My ds is nearly 3 and also complains of being tired/cold as well when we have to go out to walk the neighbours' dogs (I agreed to do this and usually he loves it, till just a couple days ago.) He's dressed warmly and anyway it hasn't been that cold. Today I just persisted and found things to look at etc. and we did get a decent walk in.
