What would you do?

I'm really stumped. dd2 was off all last week with an ear infection and virul infection, and is still on antibiotics. She has been up since 4.30 crying with earache, I got some calpol and nurofen down her and she has just gone back to sleep. Thing is, with her already having a week of, I don't know whether to keep her off today or not, also, with how deep she is sleeping now bless her there is a chance she won't wake up for 7.15 and i begrudge waking her.

She had only been back and school for two weeks after having a week off because of a bad cold and now she has had to have another week off.

What would you do?

poor little dd2. Keep her off.

I missed a whole term of school once, because of illness. I think I attended school for about 2 days in total!

foundintransleightion · 19/12/2005 06:53

yup. earache is yuk, then hardly any sleep...

MrsBubsDeVere · 19/12/2005 06:55

Ok, the nusery have been fine about her being off so far, just hope they don't get fed up, just been up to check on her and take her temp, its still high, but not as high as earlier and she is snoring bless her.

I'd keep her off and I am a real hard arse.

If they have a temp, they stay home, infectious home, lacking significant amounts of sleep, home, activly vomiting/trots home.

Most other things, into school. Rule of thumb for me, well enough to play, well enough to go back to school (as long as not infectios)

thanks martian, glad I'm the only one who feels like that (hard arse) she is awake now, but complaining now of tummy ache (which could be antibiotics????) and still has a temp, she is v v v grumpy and i can't even speak to her without her crying. So it looks like she is off school.

Yeah, I don't keep DS1 off for minor stuff, but I would totally keep him off for fever etc. Poor thing.

MrsBubsDeVere · 19/12/2005 08:07

just taken her temp and it is 38.1, she is red hot and I have just had to fight to get some medicine down her, the little minx spat it out so it is all in her hair and on the carpet.
