Hello,

I am trying to lose about 2 stone in about 6 months for my wedding. I am doing slimming world and eating lots of fruit and veg.

Have started going to the local high impact aerobics 3 times a week, might be increasing to 4 workout a week to include swimming or aqua aerobics.

How soon can i expect to start to notice the difference. And is this enough exercise seeing as i havent done hadly any for 12 years.

Any advice apprecaited.

You should notice a difference yourself after the first week or so. What you are doing sounds fab, just remember to warm up and cool down beforehand you don't want any torn muscles etc.

One thing that I would add, is increase the amount of water you drink, it helps lose weight, and, it will make your complexion clearer.

Any amount of exercise is betting than none, if I were you just keep to what you are doing atvthe moment then increase it in a few weeks espcailly if you haven't done anything for so long. It will take time for your body, joints and ligaments to get use to this burst of energy.
If youd do too much too soon you are likey for injury and lots of aches and pains.

Also remembr for execerise your body needs energy so just watch what you are eating , have a chat with your Slim Worls leader about this diet and exercise. If you are not eating enough you will not enjoy the exercise .

Remember to drink lots of water, you will be surprised how mcuh that helps, Aim to lose 1 to 2lb a week , that way you are more likley to keep it off for longer.

If you have sometging for aim for like your wedding then you;ll achieve it but be patient and don't do too much too soon.

Power walking and jogging are a great way of losing weight plus its free !!

bye the way, 2stone is MORE than possible in 6 months, good luck.

Thanks for that, i love going to the classes as i dont like doing it on my own. I have my dress fitting next week so i need to feel like i am doing something. I do feel better for it and it is nice to have some me time as i havent for the last 3 years.

I will up the water as i am not drinking enough. Does squash count?

What food should i be eating to keep up with the energy? I eat healthly apart from the odd takeaway.

I also feel like i have to get value for money as i pay monthly for it and doing well so far.

Water is best, I believe as squash may have hidden sugar etc. Just remeber everytime you are at the sink drink a glass of water and have a glass of water before every meal. If you are not used to drinking water it will be strange at first but then you'll get used to it

IF you are trying to lose weight and diet just make sure you are not starving yourself , as execercise will fell like hell, perhaps a banana half an hour before a class ?

You will probably find that the first few weeks you will lose weight rapidly espcailly of you up your water, and then even out. You have plenty of time to do this and even a more of a motivation of you are paying for the gym !!!

I am eating so much fruit and veg (12 bits of fruit today and 2 veg) so doing well.

It is best to eat lots of pasta, rice on the days i am exercising?

If you are on the slimming world diet then rice and pasta will fall nicely into it on your green day and you should be OK for exercise.

Losing weight is all about a balanced diet and execerise.

Many years ago I went on a calorie controlled diet and increased my excercis end lost two stone , now I do not have the self discipline for dieting but do more excercise and try to eat a bit more sensile, but unfortunately chocolate is my downfall !!!

Remebr if you do not eat enough then your body will go into starvation mode and store fat as it thinks a famine has hit , likewise with water, by drinking more water our body knows its getting enough fuild, when your body doesn't get enough fuild it will hold onto water, hence water retention and bloatedness.
