Giving antibiotics to 7 month old

ds2 has antibiotics for a skin infection. Says on the bottle: empty stomach and 1 hour before food, 4 times per day.

As ds2 is only 7 months old, he rarely has empty stomach and is desperate for his bottle in the morning so can't starve him for an hour, can I? He has just started sleeping 12 hours at night so I really don't want to wake him to give it.

That's assuming I can get it into him in the first place! I have the syringes and kept his head back but he still managed to spit it out.

And this is all on the off-chance that this helps his 'eczema'! Grrrrrrrrr!

ANy ideas mnetters? How can I get him to take it? And when should I give it? Thanks

My DS had them at 7m for a chest infection. I used to give 30mins or so before feeds and he was fine. Hope they work for your little one

Thanks yes is flucloxacillin. Tried squirting into back but caught his throat and bit of a coughing fit!

Is it necessary to space the doses equally and therefore wake him in the night?

I asked GP this and he said it wasn't necessary to give during the night - just space doses evenly during waking hours.

Hooray no getting up in the night! Will try teat.
Dh says why can't we put it in his milk but this will affect absorption?
