I just did this and feel terrible. Got an emergency appt at the dr's and he said it's nothing, but he said he had to call me in in case it was child abuse as he would have to report it.

Stupid doctor! If anyone saw the damage I do to dd's hair whilst trying to 'style' it would probably report me for child abuse too!

What a stupid thing to say to you though!

saadia · 12/12/2005 18:57

Thanks for your message CRSEINH. That's what I thought. If it is child abuse isn't it better to say nothing at the time and if it isn't then why mention it?

may have done, but can't remember. I know I nicked somebody's ear once, but it may have been dx.

Yep. Did it to DS1.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 12/12/2005 19:00

LOL! Come back to the torching!!!

AFewMorePeasantsWithABiggerJCB · 12/12/2005 19:01

I'm delighted to say I've never torched any of my children nor run over them in a JCB...

MerryKidMas · 12/12/2005 19:02

I did it to DS once, he didn't even notice but I felt bad anyway.

kleist · 12/12/2005 19:03

Not doing hair. But I remember an awful moment the first time I clipped dd's nails with those goddamned ridiculous baby nail clippers and clipped off the whole skin at the end of her little finger. It bled and bled and she yelled and yelled and I felt like throwing up. She was 3 months old.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 12/12/2005 19:05

Didn't do this guy any harm

saadia · 12/12/2005 19:14

Oh kleist that must hav been awful.I hope it all healed up. It was the bleeding that worried me too. Doc said ears have very good supply that's why there was so much of it dripping away.

Kleist - I did that to my DD when she was about 8 weeks old.

I felt awful

It bled for ages, but it did all heal up nicely in the end.

LadyTophamInAChristmasHatt · 12/12/2005 19:21

kliest,
I've done it with all 3 Ds's, DS3 was less than a week old when I did it to him
I'm a liability with nail clippers!

Top Tip: I've found those massive great big one much safer to use than the teeny weeny ones.

dropinthemanger · 12/12/2005 19:23

yes, been there and bought the scissors!
