dd - tummy pain and slight temperature

dd aged 4 has been out of sorts today, seemed tired, which we'd put down to a long week at school with first nativity etc and her waking a bit early today. After lunch she started complaining her tummy hurt, seemed a little hot and tired. She napped earlier and didn't really get excited about putting up the Christmas tree. Not constipated, not painful to wee, not feeling sick. Pain itself seems to have eased a bit now and she is now in bed although she gagged on first spoon of Calpol.

Any ideas what may be causing it ? Could she just be overtired.

My dd has had this for the last 2-3 days She had a sore belly at pre-school on Thursday, then through the night she had diahorrea (sp?) and a slight temp. She''s still got a bit of a delicate belly - was assuming it's just a bug?

LIZS - what you described was my 4 year old DS yesterday - EXACTLY. He missed his Christmas party at pre-school too.

Today - he is right as rain, completely back to his normal self. Hope your DD is fine by tomorrow.

Maybe it is a bug. She was bit "loose" yesterday evening but I put it down to her having had apple at lunchtime and apple juice after school. It did seem quite painful for a while today.

We're due to meet friends so hope she sleeps it off.

I've had weird tummy ache today (an ibuprofen a couple of hours ago and a bit of lounging around seems to have seen it off tho). Suspect it is a bug doing the rounds.

Ooh thanks for that Kbear. It is worrying when there isn't an obvious explanation but glad to hear your ds has recovered so quickly.

"...to meet friends" tomorrow...

I was gutted for him about missing his party - he's been talking about for weeks. He had a sleep in the morning and when he woke I thought I'd give him the chance to say he felt well enough to go, after all he'd had no sickness or anything, just unspecified not-wellness! He shook his name and said "no mummy, I'll stay here wrapped in a blanket". Bless. I was sooo happy to see him back to normal today, hungry and playing and excited about the Christmas tree!
