cough only at night ds 16 months old...what could it be?

had running nose and cough a month ago...
cured with antibiotic and now has cough only a night on and off....
manage to sleep through anyway...

could it be dust ....I clean once a week....

maybe dust allergy or what?

phlegm running down the back of his throat makind him cough .. try lifting cot .. put it on books one side

asthma .. difficult to diagnose for under 2 year old .. if cough is waking him up in early hours ie 3am to 5am then could be .. but doubtful

could be dust allergy .. but he would cough other times with this not just at night-time .. also allergies are more likely to involve sneezes, itches and eyes than coughing .. try not dusting for a while (no, seriously just let it settle)

teething definitely could be a cause .. excess saliva (spit) has to go somewhere and can also make them snotty too
