Ds has been a bit out of sorts for a couple of days. VERY grumpy, off his food etc etc

Today he has been really sleepy and not overly keen on food. He has also been sick a few time... first few lots it was just a little bit (but very "sick" smell iykwim?) and then after dinner quite a big lot!

Not sure if the sleepiness is just because he is doing more walking atm... or if he is ill?

keep his food very plain, lots of water and minimum dairy and if sickness persists try dioralyte

followthestarlover · 05/12/2005 18:42

IKWYM starlover I hate it when the kids get ill, you just seem to worry so much until they are better again, its worse in babies as they can't tell you if they don't feel well.

Mine are 5 and 3 and thankfully don't get as many bugs now as they did when they were babies.

followthestarlover · 05/12/2005 18:44

ahh ok! As i say he isn't that interested in food at the moment so shouldn't be too hard to keep that nice and plain

My GP always told me to water down bottles when mine had a bug but that was 3 years ago now and they seem to advise differently now so not sure.

zippimistletoes · 05/12/2005 18:47

does he have diarrohoea?

see how he is in the next 24 hours and don't worry about food as long as his fluid intake is reasonable and he is having wet nappies

followthestarlover · 05/12/2005 18:48

no diarrohoea so far! thank goodness.... although he did have it a week or so ago!

will see how he is tomorrow and go from there!

HarkTheHeraldAIMSMUMsings · 05/12/2005 18:53

Aww your poor ds It does sound like a bug, hopefully he will sleep it off.

followthestarlover · 05/12/2005 18:53

yes it was/is! just deciding whether to take them to court... uit's just so much hassle

thecattleareALOHing · 05/12/2005 18:56

Ill. It's a tummy bug. YOu don't get sick with tiredness - though I do admit to feeling pretty sick and tired sometimes!

zippimistletoes · 05/12/2005 19:02

tbh I would just offer his bottles and extra water if he's hot or can't keep anything down

if he does have a temperature then see if calpol brings it down

followthestarlover · 06/12/2005 20:13

i wasn't suggesting he was sick from tiredness!
just not sure if he was sleepy because he was ill, or just because he is so active lately.

he has seemed a bit better today... no vomiting but still not quite right
