Son has sickness, the runs and griping pains - Calpol?

He's been sick on and off today, had the runs and is now complaining of griping pains in his tummy. He's not eaten since this morning. Would it be okay to give him some Calpol for the griping pains?

I think he's caught a bug from a friend he sat next to on Friday night at his special needs disco - apparently she was sick and had to go home early.

Well - if he can keep it down I can't imagine it will hurt?

You could try but he might just vomit it up & be caused more discomfort. His system will clear itself out. In the meantime he could get dehydrated, so if he could try to drink a few sips of water or suck some chips of ice if even that is not possible. If the d & v goes on tomorrow, it would be as well to have him checked out by a doctor. Hope he is feeling better very soon.
