Violent tic in leg after op

Dh had an op on his leg in March - he has bad arthritis, needs a new knee but instead of this they broke the leg, inserted pins and cut a section of bone out. Apparently this is cheaper than a knee joint. But that's another story.
Anyway since he's had it done he gets a violent tic in it during the night. It wakes both of us up several times. The only way I can describe it is shakes and vibrates and bangs the bed. DH says it's like it's posessed, not cramp something entirely different.

Anyone have any experience of this? Surely it's not normal. The whole op has been rather a cock up.

Sounds like a nerve problem, he needs to go back to the gp, who will probably refer him back to the orth.team that did the op.

Only an MRI will see what's going on, he may request that first.

Good luck!

thank you, just assumed it was muscular, not thought about nerves.
