Hello

Our close friend had a mini heart attack, he is in hospital and stable. It is a shock, although he is in his 60's he looks after himself.

Anyone have any experience with a close friend or relative?

I just wondered what it is like after, did it happend again?

I have a granduncle who has had a couple of them and still is pretty well at his almost 90 yrs. His only complain is artritis which is, obviously, unrelated. Last attack was more than 20 yrs ago.

Hello
One of my family had a heart attack at a young age. It's not happened again but he has medication and regular checks now
It seems to have changed his outlook on life somewhat but not in a -ve way

Thank you!

Makes me feel more positive - such a shock when I found out!

He looks after himself and gave up smoking last year but I guess all those years of smoking cant be undone.

If he doesn not go back to smoking, he will slowly benefit from the lack of nicotine in his body. It takes many years though.

Look at it this way; at least now the doctors know he has a problem with his heart and he will be monitored and put on medication etc. He could look on it as a warning.

My uncle had sveral heart attacks and surgery a long time ago and is still alive, nearly 80.
