PMT & Painful Periods - Advice please

I would appreciate some advice. I had my DS in jan this year and before that was on the pill for 12 yrs. I am no longer on the pill, and for the first time in a long time am having normal periods. They are regular but I am suffering with quite uncomfortable pain before my period starts, and also bad PMT and am very irritable and weepy. I have been looking into complementary treatments, e.g. Evening primrose oil & vitamin B6 but am not sure if there's anything else out there I could try.
Does anyone take these to relieve symptoms and do they help? Do I need to take them all the time or just for a few days?
Any advice would be great.
Thanks

Agnus castus can help, it's a herbal treatment & you're supposed take it all the time although I just take it in the last 2 weeks of my cycle & that seems to work well.

I should add - it's for PMS, it'll do nothing for the pain I'm afraid.

cramp bark is really good for pain I used it as a herbal tincture.

I think you're supposed to take them for a while before they work.

I must admit I have tried virtually everything and nothing has worked well - the only thing that seemed to have a minor effect was fish oils.

I have read that if your PMT is really severe, it can be worth taking some St John's Wort for a few cycles to see if it alleviates any of the symptoms.
