Lump in breast-Feeling scared

I have a lump in my breast, sort of on the top section, near the nipple. It is very large (2" across) but quite flat. I think it gets bigger about half way through my cycle but I'm not totally sure. It feels huge in my AA breasts and only really appeared about 6 weeks ago.

I have been to the GP and have been referred to the breast clinic in a week for a mammogram and tests.
I feel so scared.

Does anyone have any experience of this. It's going to be a very long week. I just keep worrying for my children.

i had a mamogram and scan today and i am relieved to say the lump is a gland with a build up of dense tissue, Doctor said it might get bigger, stay the same or go away but he said i need to make sure my local Doctor keeps and eye on my thyroid problem (i have hasimotos autoimmune disease) as it can affect the breast tissue (something i didnt know). i was there 4hrs but i didnt mind, they were lovely and really sensitive. its not over yet with regards to the cervical cancer, i still have a few weeks before i find out of they got it all. i do feel like some of the weight has been lifted that i have been carrying around the last couple of weeks, i think i will need a large glass of wine tonight.

Mel - that's great news. Wishing you all very best wishes with your cervical cancer.

I had the results of my biopsy today and it confirmed that the lump is benign. I'm hugely relieved. I really do feel extremely lucky and I am just drinking in my daughters.

I would just like to thank you all again for your huge support. It has helped me such a lot.

Good luck to all you others going through something similar.
