Could someone please tell me what is the average weight for a 5 year child? Is there a website where I can put in ds details and it tells me if he is the right weight? Or is there an online graph I can view? Ladies I thank you

My DD is just over 2 and a half stones and was 5 in October.

nooka · 04/12/2005 20:26

My dd is 4 stone, and was 5 in September. She is very tall!

nooka · 04/12/2005 20:27

Actually - I might be wrong - maybe she is 4 foot.

Apixelmascarol · 04/12/2005 20:32

My ds will be 6 in may and he weighs 3 stone atm.

tortoiseshell · 04/12/2005 20:33

Ds is 4 and a half and weighs about 2 stone 5.

Bozza · 04/12/2005 20:54

4 stone does sound quite heavy I think you might mean 4 foot. DS will be 5 in February and he is about 3 stone.

nooka · 04/12/2005 21:25

I know Bozza, I posted that and then thought no way! Almost got her out of bed to weigh her before I remembered that dh has taken the weighing scales. But she is big and only weighs slightly less than her brother who is 16mths older than her.

coppertop · 04/12/2005 21:31

Ds1 is 5.5yrs old and weighs a couple of pounds over 3 stone. He's tall and slim (unlike me! ).

cathyspamtaslittlehelper · 04/12/2005 21:40

ooh, am a bit worried now DS1 is only 2 years 4 months and weighs 2 stone 7 - is that too heavy? He is tall for his age and looks about a year older than he is.

honeybunny · 04/12/2005 21:53

ds1 is 5.1yo and weighs 15.2kg and is 102cm tall. He's only on the 2nd -9th centile, and has been investigated for growth hormone deficiency as he's not grown an iota in the past 18mo. All his tests have come back negative, thank god, but I do notice that he is tiny compared to his classmates. Sadly for ds1, my ds2 (3.6yo)is 15.6kg and 101.5cm tall, and undoubtedly will overtake v v soon.

Heartmum2Jamie · 05/12/2005 12:09

My 4 1/2 year old is 40lb (2st 12lb) and is 106.4cm tall.

On the other hand, my 17 month old is the average weight of a 9-12 month old

puddingz · 09/12/2005 23:05

When DS went to a friend's house he stepped onto the speaking scales and he weighed 3 stones. I was shocked that he weighed that much. I'm not model shaped (and being pregnant ain't helping!) DS is really slim considering mum's shape and Dad is not exactly twiglet shape. DS is gonna be 6 in January and loves playing football. But after reading the replies I feel a bit better. Thank You
