Ovarian/follicular function whilst breastfeeding

Technical question this.

Anyone got any idea what your ovaries look like whilst breastfeeding? I'm BF an 11m-old, and a recent scan showed my ovaries had multiple little cysts on them. Does this mean that my body's been gearing up to ovulate (and hasn't quite got there), meaning that the effects of BF on suppressing ovulation are wearing off (I haven't had a period since giving birth), or are your ovaries normally like this whilst BF? Am asking because we're thinking about when to TTC #2..

Thanks
