Am supposed to be working 6-10 tonight but have felt sick all morning and had diarhea (sp?) twice (sorry if tmi).

Not sure what to do. Don't want to leave it until late and then have to ring at the last minute cos that will leave them in the lurch.

Ring them now, babe.

Feel a bit bad about it though cos i've only been there a couple of weeks and they are really busy.

Yes, but if you're ill you're ill. It's not your problem that they are busy.

Or ring them and say it's looking unlikely, to warn them?

nutcracker · 23/11/2005 14:01

Yeah, I do seem to be feeling worse as they day goes on not better.

Will ring them now.

Isn't it funny how people change when you can't do what they want.

Spoke to the assistant manager who quite obviously didn't believe me. She asked what was wrong so I told her.
I was supposed to be in tonight and then off until Saturday, but she has just said well can you do tommorow night instead then. I have said I'll have to see how I am , but I can't do it because I have tickets do Dd1's concert.

Shall I ring back now and say I can't ??

Rung back and told her I can't do thursday anyway and she said oh well you'll have to do friday then instead.

I just said , well i will if i'm not still ill.

Yes. Say you've just remembered, giving the full name of the concert and school and so on so she knows you've not made it up. If you feel up to it, give her the option of when you can make it.

nutcracker · 23/11/2005 14:17

I've said that if I feel better then I will go in on Friday.

Am annoyed at her attitude though, like i'm not allowed to be bloody ill.

You should perhaps put it to your boss that you could come into work, spread your germs around and then they'll have more of their workforce off ill. They really wouldn't be happy then. Its no good for them or you to work when you're ill. You need to take the time to make sure you recover properly. Hope you feel better soon. (smile)
