It started at nursery, the girl in charge said she had never seen anything like it ie how quickly it came on, how often and how violent. She seems OK in herself all things considered. It seems like it could be a reaction to something she's eaten and I've just noticed she had kiwi fruit at 3.30. She's had kiwi before but not for a while could this have caused it? Any advice gratefully received

Have you tried NHS Direct?

WalkinginaRainbowWonderland · 22/11/2005 18:43

If it doesn't stop soon I'd get straight onto NHS direct - doesn't sound right to me.

is she taking fluids?

northender · 22/11/2005 18:48

she's had some sips of water and kept them down so far. At the mo she's sitting on the floor fiddling with a skipping rope and giggling watching ds playing rugby in the hall!

there are a lot of tummy bugs doing the rounds atm. lots of kids in dds school have it, she does and so do i!

we were both horribly sick last night and still feel ill today!
hope your dd feels better soon

Sounds like a violent bug and she is now on the mend. My son used to get bugs and would vomit every 20 minutes to half an hour all through the night. He has done that about 3 or 4 times. It is scarey at the time, but if your dd has stopped now and can sip some water, it sounds as though she is through the worst.

thanks for all your advice i was feeling a wee bit panicky but I've calmed down now. dd is asleep in my arms and seems fine.
