i have been taking a new pill since august, it's one of the ones where you don't have a break the doc told me i might have a little bleed or may not have one at all so i haven't had a proper period since july ish. i got 3 quaters through my last pack and forgot to take a few pills so i left it and thought i'll just wait for my period to come then i'll start taking the pill again.

i waited for what was probably was about eight weeks. yesturday morning i started bleeding it was really reallly heavy and bright red, i had pains in my stomach that were herrendous that lasted all day and evening (bleeding still heavy) woke up this morning bleeding still just as bad as yesturday at some points it's just pouring out, then it slows but still heavy , earlier on i had a blackish large clot sorry if t.m.i. and now i'm still bleeding heavy with lots of small bits coming out(still bright red)and i still have stomach pain.

could this be a really bad peiod?do bits come away with a period or could it be a miscarrage, i have had three children so had no indication or feeling that i could have been pregnant.

will it just stop or do i need to get medical help? thanks for listening

could this be a really bad period

yuck, poor you.

if it lasts for more than 48 hours with no sign of a let up and you are in pain and the clots get bigger you could go to the GP but tbh many of us get normal periods like that and even with a MC there's not a great deal they can do except give you a scan to see if there is anything left in your uterus that may need to be removed by a d&C.

Sorry not much help

Hi, I would def go see the doc.
It is more likely IMO the fact that you have stopped your pill i.e not finished the whole pack. Your body is probably trying to adjust to hormones etc.
See the doc for a check up to be sure.

perfume lady. I have had a few periods like this which I know were not early miscarriages, so they do happen.

i was on this pill (dont know if te same brand mine was femulen) otherwise known as the POP and for the first three months nothing then all of a sudden a massive bleed with clots that i could feel (sorry if tmi!!) accompanied by bad cramping and i thought i was having a m/c having suffered from previous m/c and this was how it felt. I also know that the hcg from the pg will stay raised for a liitle while after a m/c so i done a pt and it was negative, anyhow i went to see my gp who said this type of heavy bleeding was normal as it was my body and hormones adjusting in the three previous months of being on the pill had almost blocked up and then when it finally readjusted it just let it all go so to speak yuck!! i am currently ttc (with not much luck ) and my periods have settled back down after coming off the pill. How were your periods prior to going on this pill?
BTW sorry for the long post i do tend to qaffle a little
