glass ionomer filling replaced?

Hi, so i've been to the dreaded dentist today and ive gotta have my filling replaced. It's a glass ionomer filling(think thats how ya spell it!) and its beoken and worn away, so is it difficult to replace? just wondering if im gonna be in agony afterwards, anyone had this done??
