Laparoscopy Sterilisation question. Healing time?

Hello, I never post on here, Im a 'lurker'. I was wondering if anyone out there could give me a bit of advice please :)

Im going in for a laparoscopic sterilisation next week, I forgot to ask the nurse how long will it take to heal, for example, will I be ok to walk/drive a few days after ( i understand not straight away) but I mean about 2 days after the op , Im going into panic mode a bit, with who is going to take the kids to school etc .. DH has work and cannot not take the week off, he has taken 2 days off after op, and no, there isnt anybody else available to help. It should be okay shouldnt it to drive a mile or so up the road? or walk?

Another question... we have been looking at late holiday deals, how bad will the scar look say about a month after? will it have healed fully? Does the scar look awful? I have had 2 C-secs and the scars are a bloody mess, im not over weight but I have a buldge/over hang over the scars, I can hide this with the bikinis that have a sort of fold on the top if you get me.. bit worried about this one because the scar is going to be under my belly button so the nurse told me.
Cheers :)

Hi, you should find the scar to be quite small -not much bigger than 1 cm. I'm pretty sure no one will see it when you're on holiday - it's not anything compared to the c section scars - have been there too! I'm not medical but had the same procedure done about 3 years ago...I can't even find the scar now!

i had this and the incision is tiny - as LCT74 - about 1cm - you should have no problems walking at all - you will walk out of the hospital and I was walking as much as i wanted right away - i did not lift anything heavy for a couple of days but had no problems at all with general day to day light tasks
and walking to school should not be a problem at all - driving was fine from day 1.
a lot of it is how much of a problem you want to make it
good luck !!
