After many months/years of unsuccessful weight loss with diet and exercise my GP and I have decided to give orlistat (Xenicol) a go.

I know about the horrible poos etc but am struggling to find anyone with a positive experience of it.

Is there anyone out their who has done OK with it?

I lost 4 and a half stone in 10 months after my c section soley using these tablets. No diet or exercise was amazing and still kept it off. I would highly recommend these tablets and they are non harmful to your body as they pass straight through your digestion system. You can buy them the cheapest on simply meds.

I've just started on these, like everyone else was I was worried about the side effects. Not had them yet though so fingers crossed I'm doing things right. I was rather down at being prescribed them as I didn't realise how much I'd let go eating wise and the weight had pulled on over the years need to lose around 3 stone so here goes....

This looks like a zombie thread so hoping some people are still around to respond. I’ve been buying Orlistat online for a while, could I get a prescription for them rather than fork out the full price?

I just recently got a prescription from my GP, it works out much cheaper via prescription.

I love Orlistat. It is basically making me scared to eat rubbish because of the oily poo side effect, with a very urgent need to 'go' it is making me look at food in a different way. If I see a family size chocolate bar, which previously I would have eaten within 2 minutes, I just see it as a slab of fat. It has changed my attitude towards food. I now eat healthy food because I know what the unhealthy food will look like as it comes out and I am disgusted that all of that unhealthy fat was going into my body, into my arteries, around my heart. It has been a visual education in healthy eating. I am losing weight and it's thanks to orlistat - healthful-online.com/c2831/orlistat.html

I’ve just bought a box of Orlistat but I’m nervous about starting because of the side effects. My BMI is 34.8. I have 3.5 stone to lose. I’ve tried every diet and fad going but I just can’t seem to do it so I’m really pinning all my hopes on this. I’m 44 years old and working 60 hours a week, no time for exercise and not a lot of time or motivation for making healthy meals. I really hope I can do this and that I’ll see some results.

Hi Please do let me know how you get on

1971isgreat · 30/08/2023 14:20

I have just been prescribed this by my go. It worked out £9.99 for 84 capsules (2 months supply). Since going through menopause - I can’t seem to shift any weight. Tried diets going to the gym. For past 12 months.so I am hopeful this will work. I need to loose about 3 stone. Thanks for all the reviews as above. I feel nervous but hopeful 😬

ive been prescribed orlistat and absolutely scared of taking them. Has anyone got any recent reviews please? Like I don’t know whether to start taking them or not because I absolutely hate tummy aches and cramping etc. obviously I won’t know the side effects until I start taking it but it would be helpful to hear recent reviews. Thank you.

Hi , I tried them but it's not a happy tale .I got the dreaded poo attack at an airport , and had to throw away my entire outfit and my shoes !! there was poo everywhere ! I had to stop taking them , it was like a walking poo bomb waiting to go off !Hope others have better luck but for me it was like taking laxitives .
