Well, when I say 'I', I mean DMiL.
She has been off work for some time with excrutiating shoulder pain. An xray and scan later and it appears as if her tendon is frayed and hanging on 'by a thread'. Dr has said it's highly likely she's going to need surgery but that protocol now is that first she has to be referred to physio who will then say 'this isn't appropriate treatment for her' and then she'll be referred to a surgeon.
She's just been told she will wait at least 11 weeks before she even gets an appointment for physio. She literally cannot do anything because of the pain and is worrying herself silly as her sickness package at work is pretty appalling so she's concerned about moving onto long-term ssp and what that means to their household budget.
How would we go about getting her seen quickly by a physio? I'm assuming it would mean going privately, but just don't have a clue where to start...
Any help/pointers/experiences? Thanks in advance.
