I had my beustiful DS by CS 4 weeks ago. My scar is in the fold underneath my overhanging lower belly (yuk yuk yuk). The scar has healed up nicely bar a slight infection where the staples were. I'm allergic to metal being poked through my skin would you believe! My concern is the actual flabby bit, it gets quite swollen at odd times, like fluid is collecting in the lowest part and is sometimes tender to touch. I've only been wearing loose fitting trousers thinking the snugness of my jeans might have had something to do with it. But I still get it almost every day.

Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. Steer well clear of Jeans and if the wound area starts to become damp, place some melolin squares underneath the overhanging bit.

Swelling and pain can also indicate the presence of an infection inside the tissues, so you might want to have it checked out by the doc. It's only been 4 weeks, so it's early days yet.

My tummy would also begin hurting when I'd been on my feet too long, so I knew I needed a rest if that started happening. You've had major surgery, so don't push yourself too much.

Congratulations on your new arrival btw Smile
