W&S, may we help you, is this about you? I have been watching my husband go through hell the last 3 years, he has bowel cancer which has spread to his lung and liver. We have 13yr old triplets! My lifeline has been the Macmillen site, there are forums for every type of cancer, people you can talk to, its a mind of information. Please contact me if I can help you. xx

I used to use the macmillian site before they changed it :(
Feel free to ask on here, theres a few of us on here supporting other (waves at triplets)

MavisEnderby · 28/05/2011 23:39

the Macmillan.org.uk site may be useful x

I also recommend Macmillan (tho the layout can be a bit trying sometimes). The people on there are just - normal people, who unfortunately have lots of experience.

My cancer is/was quite rare, so I actually found the best site for me was a global (but USA-skewed) Yahoo Group.

I 'third' the offer of help!

I have found lots of helpful posts on the Macmillan boards and the atmosphere seems extremely supportive. Wishing you strength.

worriedandsad · 29/05/2011 10:30

thanks all. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate yorru offers. I will know more what we are dealing with by mid week and I will be back in touch. I have the contact a mumsnet facility and so if you have activated this we should be able to correspond direct. Triplets I got your message this morning - thank you so much.

In case one of you reads this today my dad is in London/essex. He is under the care of a orthopaedic surgeon (this was all discovered as a total surprise) so am trying to locate a specilaist for him to see after CAT scan on Tuesday. He has private cover (whether or not thiss gets you treated faster I do not know) but I am trying to find who to see. How do you find out who is the "best" (so to speak) person to see? It seems wrong to just pick a name out of a book. Who is there to ask? I know GP will only go through a list of who is at local NHS hospital and that may not necessarily be the best option (I know on far less serious matters I have had some very unsatisfatory treatment with consultants going this route).
