Best way to stop stinging ftom stinging nettle stings?

Walked across a field just now. Carried dd1 over a patch of stinging nettles. Slipped and put hand in the nettles and dd1s leg is badly stung too. Is there anything that will help with the stinging pain. OMG they hurt. Am at home so no dock leaves!

Think Wasp-eze is meant to help with nettle stings (tho never tried it so not sure how useful that is!?!)

Currently trying baking powder. Salon caused extreme stinging! Sting relief stuff didn't help either! Dd1 had a quick bath too. Trying everything I can.

yoghurt, or failing that fromage frais?

I'm thinking that if they cool down spicy food they might work on stings .

Got fromage frais, worth a try. Baking powder has eased it a little. My hand is bad enough but must be worse on DDs leg.

My gran used to put vinegar on our nettle stings?

Find a dock leaf and rub it on the sting. They usually grow near the nettles - really works.

Baking powder best if no specific medicines to hand.
I've got some spray on stuff which is good and means you don't have to touch the sore bits either.
Stock up on some for next time! Hope she's ok now.

Can't go out to find dock leaf. Just me an dd1 and dd2.
Given calpol as she is saying it really hurts. I know the feeling! Mine is stinging like buggery!

Rub spit on it, bit gross but happened to ds and we were miles from anywhere but it works somehow. Works with mosquito bites too!

Thanks. Spit does ease stings for a bit but not long enough. I always tell dc to spit on it! Think this time it us just too many stings in one area.
My hand is stinging but a lot less than before and dd1 has calmed down too.

Agree about dock leaves. Crush it up and rub the juice on the stings. Been doing since I was a kid.

And its still stinging! Only mildly but its unpleasant!
