Kidney stones - diet?

My lovely DH has just been diagnosed with kidney stones :(
Is there any thing you would recommend eating/drinking to help? Or anything that is a definite no-no?
He doesn't drink and eats fairly heathily, drinks lots of water, but I'm wondering if there's anything more I can do as regards cooking etc.

Check out his blood type and Peter D'Adamo has written a brilliant scientific book which would help .If he's type A he shouldn't be eating meat (only a little chicken). If he's O type he SHOULD eat meat (apart from pork) but no wheat.

Also google earth clinic which can help with problems Good luck Smile

I think that in actual science terms (rather than making stuff up to sell books), unless your dh has been diagnosed with one of the rare causes of kidney stones, then all he can do is drink lots (and it doesn't matter what) so that dilute urine is always moving through his kidneys

Gosh ppeatfruit that sounds very complicated - does it actually work?
CMOTdibbler - DH is drinking lots of water (and has been complaining about needing to wee more - wonder why Hmm )
Is cranberry juice any good - or just for cystitis?

It really doesn't matter what he drinks tbh, though in the interests of general health diluted juice/water prob best, cranberry juice is only specifically good for cystitis.

He needs to be weeing a lot - it should be really pale.

My dad (who gets kidney stones, but over the last few years only tiny ones) keeps a bottle of flavoured water with him all the time so he keeps drinking, and knows how much he's had.
