Ds is 13months old and gets very "bunged". He does not drink enough fluids but this is gradually improving. Does anyone have any "miracle" solutions to help???

We found the easiest way to get it into dd was to use a syringe....you can get them in the pharmacists with a little bung adaptor that you can fit into the bottle. they way you can be accurate in the dose and get it all done asap.

Dd was 2.5 when she was potty trained and it all went quite well, she was 'done' in two weeks. And it helped the consipation. Possibley because she was 'in control' with the potty IYSWIM

Well we are on day 2.5 with lactulose and ds is still constipated. Will be ringing the doctors tmrw. Will keep him on it though!

I can take a while, you do have to keep on with it. Once it is working you may still have to keep it up for a while.

My ds was on 2.5 of lactulose, when that didnt work doc just told me to give him 5ml which moved things.
I now give him a drink of prune juice every day (stuff in a large glass bottle, more expensive but lasts for 14 days in the fridge) and this seems to be doing the trick. Still not completely 'normal', but a hell of a lot better !

Well i spoke to doc on phone and he prescribed ds some senna syrup and some suppositories!

We have only given him one suppository and he seems to have had a fantastic "clear out" since we started him on the lactulose and senna!

He seems to be eating a little better too.

Looking back i wish i had gone to the doc sooner as i have missed out on 5 weeks of a full night sleep. His sleeping has been soooooo much better too.

So a good all round improvement. Also giving him prunes on breakfast!!!!!

Thamks to everyone who posted, you have given some great advise x
