this has happened throughout my life. also happens to my sister and has happend to ds at least once. it has just happened to me again tonight. usually a bowl of cornflakes sorts me out pretty quickly and i am fine but it hasn't worked tonight. i still feel shaky and out of sorts.

any ideas what this could be?

Low blood sugar, if cornflakes helps! Could also be low blood pressure? My sister gets it - dizzy, weak, sometimes nauseous. She has to lie down. Drinking plenty of water helps a bit.
If its always happened, unlikely to be anything worrying - but have you ever told a GP?

thanks elibean. no i've never mentioned it to the GP. do you think it's worth a mention? hardly worth an appointment just for that is it?

Not necessarily a special appointment, but next time you see your GP do talk about it - if you have low blood pressure, its good to know about it because: if you need surgery one day, especially major surgery, you should tell the hospital as anaesthesia lowers BP even more. Then they can keep a special eye on you.

Other than that, low BP is good news - less likely to have heart related illnesses! I have high BP, and am rather Envy of my sister on that score Smile
