Savagely poked in the eye

DS (7m) poked me in the eye about 6 hours ago. His nails needed cutting so it was quite sharp.

It took about 30 mins for me to open my eye, but I still can't keep it constantly open, it's still watering badly and it hurts like hell. It feels like there's something in it, but there isn't.

Is there anything I can do to help it/relieve the pain?

It really is very very painful.

bathe it with cooled boiled water. You could put a tiny bit of salt in the water.

go to a walk in centre or a&e, I guess you already did cool it and it didn*t get much better.

I cooled it earlier, but I've done it again and it seems slightly better. It's not watering so much, and I can keep it open for longer, but it still hurts a lot and it still feels like there's something in it.

I'm not sure about a&e, I'm always worried that they'll just say that I have to wait it out, in which case I'd rather do that without causing trouble for everyone.

The same thing happened to DH. A&E gave him antiseptic drops and an eye pd/patch.
