Chicken pox - is this possible or am I losing the plot ?!

I think I am losing the plot ! DS (2.2) had chicken pox pretty badly when he was 6 months old. It's doing the rounds again amongst his toddler group. Last week he got 2 red spots on his face, one of which looked like a big whitehead. I didn't think anything of it. Today in the car on the way somewhere I looked at his face and thought I could see a couple of red spots coming, looked at his neck and there were 3 spots that looked exactly as they do when a new crop of chicken pox come out - I was convinced that that's what they were. An hour later I looked again and they had vanished ! The same happened with one on his face at lunchtime - it appeared faintly, got redder then vanished. I know I didn't imagine that one as my Mum saw it too. Is it possible to get chicken pox for a second time but so mildly that the spots never get to the blistering stage ?

You can get CP twice but I thought it was usually down to having had a mild case first time round. I guess it's possible he's got it again and his immune system is knocking it on the head very quickly but it does seem rather bizarre to be appearing and disappearing so quickly!

Thanks for the replies.SoupDragon, that's exactly what I thought, I'd heard of it being caught for a second time if it was mild the first but not the other way round. Bethron that's interesting, I might not be losing the plot after all ! I'll probably wake up tomorrow to find him covered from head to toe again.

DS had chickenpox last year. The run up to the spots was quite bad, fever, really unhappy and he got a good dose of the spots. He got it again this year but only got the spots. He was quite happy otherwise. We just kept him on piriton and calamine lotion for a week.
