Big welt on leg after mmr

baby got mmr yesterday afternoon woke up with big welt about the size of 2 biscuits, is hot and very sore and he can't settle tonight, is this normal? did anyone else get this does it go away quick? he is 12 months

my ds had this as well as massive lump ,and I mean huge swelling
took a long time to go down
and believe it or not 7 yrs later he still has a red mark where the mmr was

thats awful, my babies leg is till bad it has spread a littel but not quite the same shade of angry red

That's awful Jenny. Did you take her back to the doctor or report the reaction with the yellow card scheme? Hope she feels better soon.

Ds had a horrible allergic reaction and we ended up
At the ooh GP at midnight. Very large uneven shaped raised red patches all over his body. Diagnosed as acute uticaria. It took several days for it to disappear. Don't know what in the MMR caused it but our GP thought long and hard about whether Ds should have the booster. He did have it and he had antihistamine at the same time and had to be monitored. He was absolutely fine.

DS had a big leg welt from one of his jabs (not MMR), no long term-effects I can accredit to it (he's now almost 7yo). It just went away after a few days.

Yah. Urticaria. its a reaction to the actual injection, not the vaccine. Itchy and red welts. Try not to rub though its instinctive to want to 'rub it better'.
