Netipot - have you used one?

I have got myself a Netipot and some sachets of salt, but haven't yet been brave enough to use it. Can anyone pass on top tips please?

Wow! I tghink I should get this to clear my regular sinus infections. I just watched a video on youtube and the weirdest thing happened to me twice! I could taste salt in my throat! weeeeiiird!

I did much better this time. At first I thought I was doing brilliantly, then realised the drips were coming out of the same nostril the liquid was going in! I put a flannel there to catch drips and lo and behold(!) it started coming out in big slow drips, then a bit faster as I adjusted my head. I'm going to try again tomorrow! Thanks for the tips everyone.

But did it clear your nostrils?!

I love it. At last a way to clear out sinuses. I use a bowl to let the water run into. My son is a doctor and asked a ENT fellow about it. He did not think they were good as they can spread infection around.
I wish I had known of them 40+ years ago, and I wish my dad could have enjoyed the benefits of one. Sinus pain hurts so bad. I get far fewer sinus inflammations or infections since using the neti pot. I bought one that came w 50 packets of mix. I use bottled water as we have well water.

Solo: I can't say my nose is any clearer after one rinse. I'm going to use it in the evenings to start with, as I do my nose spray in the mornings and I'm not sure if I should do both, or in what order. I'll let you know in a few days (if the thread is still running) if I can get more air through my nostrils (which seems to be my main problem at the moment).
