DH has been suffering for well over a week now with what we thought was the same things as the dc and I have had, swollen glands, sore throat, feeling bleugh.

But his seems to get worse each day rather than better.

He went to the doctor today and she said it is a 'virus' and could last 5 days Hmm

he is now sat suffering, has taken paracetamol and ibuprofen and various times today and they don't really help. He says it feels like he's being stabbed with a screwdriver.

Does anyone know if there is anything I could get for him that could help? I am able to get to a pharmacy.

He's not normally ill and I hate to see him suffering if there is something he can do to ease the pain, even just enough to let him go to sleep. Last night he kept waking me up with his wimper of 'aw'

Bless him

TIASmile

I found gargling with soluble pain killers ( the usual dose in soluble form but gargle before swallowing IYSWIM). There is also some throat spray stuff called ?difram (IIRC) which you can buy from the pharmacy very effective for pharangitis/ sore throat..
