We have to travel an hour to our dentist, which was ok, as we made a day shopping of it. got a letter today saying they are no longer NHS and we'll have to pay loads of cash. there are none here. can I get a ni stamp reduction?

Was just about to post the same as piffle, I've lived here 3 yrs and never managed to see a dentist on the nhs yet.
Oh btw I'm ruskington as well - first time I've 'seen' someone who lives so close to me.

pfer · 09/11/2005 12:51

LRKIDS - OMG! A fellow ruskovite!! Are your busy all day next friday the 18th Nov? Children in need day? We are arranging a sponsored peddle from London to Edinburgh - Done at the Station fitness centre - from 10am till finish. We need all the legs we can get to help. Do you think you can spread the word?

unlikely am off to Ireland for the rugby All Blacks vs the Oirish.
Was going to ask you do you use any of the sleaford nurseries or do you have one up in Ruskington?

pfer · 09/11/2005 21:34

Piffle, we have one in Ruskington which is very good. All the carers are really nice and approachable and there's even a man training there now!!

Blandmum · 10/11/2005 18:14

Just have to say, har, har, har at the thought og getting and NHS dentist in lincs. That was my best bitter laugh!

LRKIDS · 10/11/2005 19:09

pfer I'll try and pop down next friday, don't know whether I'm working or not yet. I'll definitely pop in to donate some money even if I've no time for joining in
I used to work in a nursery in sleaford and its amazing the number of times people nearly ran me over, and the number of times staff cars were hit by parents cars - a drawback of a small car park I suppose.

pfer · 10/11/2005 20:39

LRKIDS - my car got hit my a member of staff!!!

piffle · 11/11/2005 13:59

just checking LOL
must say getting very cross with morning traffic in Sleaford
DS has broken arm and needs driving to the grammar school every mornings. It's a testament to anyones driving skill to turn around in Tescos at that time of the day and NOT run a teenager over...

pfer · 11/11/2005 14:32

Sleafords rubbish to drive round isn't it?

The other week DS1 and I decided to go to the shops. It took us almost an hour to get into Sleaford. The lights and the level crossing had broken and so had the barriers. There were trains galore and they had ONE man hand winding FOUR barriers! Then we had to go carefully because the lights were out. Idiots.

piffle · 11/11/2005 14:35

We almost always use the bypass now as the rail crossing makes me so
I think the council realise that something needs to be done, with all the expansion in housing and stuff....
Schools too I guess, jam packed primaries!

pfer · 11/11/2005 14:42

TBH I usually go to Lncoln now. got all the shops i need in st marks and a free hour parking.

Always loads of room on top floor ofTK Maxx and oh gosh just like to browse in there for a little bit too
Had some dead scary trips along the a15 though. once witnessed a fatal collision and still get v nervous driving that way.

pfer · 11/11/2005 14:47

was in staples office supplies earlier sniffing paper (stationery fetish). was that speed camera still on the a15 when you came back? hope you don't get done for doing about 62! ds1 needed a wee!
