Anyone buy contact lenses online?

I'm economising and have heard that there are savings to be made by buying contacts online

Can anyone recommend a retailer? Google had given me 1 million different ones and it's hard to compare costs and work out what is cheapest

My prescription is bog standard

Thank you

Yes - I used to buy from costal contacts when I lived in the UK. They were very good with their delivery and prices.

LaToada · 03/05/2011 20:50

Marvellous. I'll check them out

Daysoft.

I find them much more comfortable than the bog standard Dailes as well as them being much cheaper.

If you have a membership with costco it is worth taking a look there. Just don't get your eyes tested there. I had a very bad experience and ended up with glasses I couldn't see out of because the script was wrong.

I cut down on the cost by doing monthlies and bought a years supply at a time. That way you don't have to bother with the solutions. I have used these for past 8 years and they have worked for me.

Asda are cheapest for my particular ones. Also worth looking at cashback websites such as Quidco, quite a few online opticians are on there.

visiondirect.com - bizarrely, I found it cheaper to buy from here and ship (often offers with free shipping) than to buy from the UK site.

I get mine from contactlenses.com or co.uk can't remember which. I get a box of 6 uv monthly lenses for £18.

DH and I use contactlenses.co.uk too. Very quick, next day delivery in boxes small enough to go through the letterbox (important if you're not home when delivery made) and cheap. Never had a problem with them

Oooo. Look at all these suggestions. Thanks everyone. I'll check them out tomorrow when on a proper compute

Daysoft are excellent value.

Obviously you'll still need regular aftercare but you're still likely to save money.
