4yo sore throat possibly ulcerated, anything to help ease it?

DD is 4.8, has a v painful throat and fever. Her throat looks quite painful but not stupidly so, she is crying out in pain and says the pain is down her throat, and that is what is sounds like, rather than the back of the throat (or, as well as), i think she might have ulcers down her throat, i say that because the kind of pain she is in is the same type i recognise from my own painful throat when I have had the same.

Is there anything she can take to help this through the night? She is so upset, and in pain, I hate seeing her like this. I have offered ice cubes/lollies etc to help through the day but not practical at night time.

I can't give her strepsils or that kind of thing can I? (i personally have gargle whisky when v bad so can't really use my own remedies!).

oh and of course I have already given her paracetamol/ibruprofen, helps with fever but not stopping the pain.

I was going to recommend Chloraseptic - it's great as it's a local anaesthetic that you just spray on. But it's for age 6-plus.

Can you ask pharmacist if there's anything that your DD could use? Otherwise, echo the ice lollies/warm drinks. Extremes of temperature seem to help me, anyway.
