Pregnancy and chicken pox

Help - I am 20 weeks pregnant and my 3 year old has just come out in chicken pox.

I had it as a child - does this definitely mean I am immune? Another pregnant friend has freaked me out, she won't come near me and she won't even let our DH's meet up for a drink for fear of infecting her. I think they have both had it too in their childhood.

My DD keeps coughing all over me and last night she got into bed with us - she is covered in weeping blisters. Sad

I feel really itchy all over but I think it's just psychological. Hope someone can reassure me!

I'm pretty certain you're fine. As long as you've had it no harm can be done :). So many pg ladies will have other children with chicken pox, don't worry. I am also 20 wks pregnant and checked this all out about 10 weeks ago as I was taking my dd for a playdate and her friend had got chicken pox at the time.

IIRC if you've had chicken pox it's highly unlikely you will get it again, but I'm not entirely sure about risks to the baby. If you're concerned you could phone NHS Direct or your GP for advice?
