I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid around a year ago and the dosage has been doubled since xmas and I still don't feel like my old self.
My TSH is 1 which should be perect.
I feel very anxious, easily tierd, have digestive problems and don't sleep soundly anymore. I have felt more bad tempered lately and get so stressed at the slightest thing - this really isn't me at all.
My Doctors are very very unsupportive. The last one I seen (who is usually a great Doctor) said "well people with thyroid issues rarley come back saying they feel great even if there TSH is 1 or under". I asked why he thought that was and did he think it was the nature of the illness and he just shrugged and said he no and didn't know.
It was like he thought Thyroid patients were a PITA.
Anyway, have read a few books and there is alot of evidence pointing at the fact the natural thyroid is so much better than the synthetic as it has alot more of the different hormones our own thyroid produces so obviously works better.
I just wondered if anyone (especially in Scotland) had managed to obtain it and how they did it?
