I had implanon put in 3 days ago, something small set me off crying earlier and I've been crying on and off ever since, tiny things keep setting me off and I'm having lots of intrusive thoughts. I feel really rather bonkers. I was fine before, so highly suspect the implant. Please tell me this will get better as i have bugger all other contraception options due to various probs with everything.

My friend was like this, she lasted a fortnight and went back to GP begging them to take it out.

I felt guilty because she had had it because I have been raving about it for 5 years saying how fab it was and how it didnt affect me at all and had stopped my periods.

So it depends on how you are coping. Give it a few days, see if it settles down, it may not. Sometimes the horemones are not right for you.
Have you had depo injections? They can be an indicator of how you might react to it.

Oops sorry cross posted. Yeah I've had depo and was fine with it apart from weight gain.... I have been au naturel as in hormonal contraception free for about 3 years though, I hope it's just some kind of surge of the hormones that will settle down.

Oh I do hope it does, I could really do with something I can just forget about!

lol @ horemones :o

I really do feel so weird at the moment. It's not helped i think by quitting smoking 3.5 weeks ago - I have zero emotional crutch whatsoever! I wouldn't ever smoke again but gawd it's been difficult today to calm down and stop crying (especially over daft things... argh!)

I'm on it and I think it's amazing. No periods whatsoever, no weight gain, happy times!

It has made me a bit more emotional, I do get upset/angry quicker than I normally would. But nothing major. Oh and I seem to have developed some acne on my forehead but I think that's the few days of sun!
