Any amateur GPs around willing to help me figure out what on earth i'm off work with?

So far i'm sipping water today.

I care. I don't know what you have got but I am sorry you have got it, whatever bastard illness it is.

I hope it goes away soon.

RamekinSkywalker · 19/04/2011 14:59

thanks Smile

RamekinSkywalker · 19/04/2011 15:50

have eaten for the first time today. shredded wheat, milk and sugar.

and my knees have started to ache, they do that when i get a virus.

Superfly · 19/04/2011 16:44

I got something like this last week - got diarrhoea thing too and last Friday GP diagnosed as Tonsillitis - but I think its a viral thingy as have been more or less asleep since Friday, and only one side of my throat up (and glands) Throat still very sore and only eating soft food.

On the plus side it has really kicked off my weightwatchers - have lost 6lb since last Thursday - on the minus side my Sis is getting married on Saturday and if I still feel like this I'll be good for nothing.

I hope you feel better soon x

RamekinSkywalker · 19/04/2011 16:47

how long did it last superfly?

geordieminx · 19/04/2011 16:48

I would say tonsillitis, I came down with it on saturday for the first time and it has wiped me out.

TobyLerone · 19/04/2011 16:50

I had almost exactly this last week (sans diarrhoea).

It was flu and tonsillitis. Was sent home from work on Monday afternoon. Was off Tuesday and Wednesday. Went back in on Thursday (lots to do/don't get paid to be at home) but didn't really feel properly 'better' until Sunday.

I've still got a headache, which hasn't left for a week, despite tablets.

RamekinSkywalker · 19/04/2011 16:50

i don't have tonsils. Smile had them removed in 2000.

Superfly · 19/04/2011 19:17

Ramekin - still feel like shite now. Throat still bad and have zero energy. Have had to send the youngest to poor old mum while the DH was at work. Thought I felt better on Sunday so took youngest to the park for a run around - but by God have paid for it since then. Have been napping on and off with really early nights (8pm!) when I am conking out. Have had to cancel a really important meeting at work tomorrow which I am having guilty attacks about on top of everything else.

Sorry for sounding so pathetic -I am really fed up now - want it to stop please

shittysickylumpyraspitis Wink

RamekinSkywalker · 19/04/2011 20:29

i think you might be right highlander. that's exactly what it feels like.
i had a little period of recovery there and went for a shower.
knackered now.
Hmm

RamekinSkywalker · 19/04/2011 20:30

superfly, yes the not being at work guilt doesn't help does it.
have had no diarrhoea since this morning now, although had it since 5pm yesterday.
am tempted to go back to work tomorrow, but not if i still have a fat neck.

RamekinSkywalker · 20/04/2011 10:49

somebody make it stop!
it's so lovely out and i am wiped out.

Superfly · 20/04/2011 13:46

Ramekin - hope you feeling a bit better. As I was not improving got an emerg appt at GPs today - it is now borderline Quinsy. As have no temp my body was doing a great job of fighting the infection - hoping now the anti-biotics will knock it on the head. He said sometimes it means hospitalisation. Yikes!

I suppose the saving grace for you if you have no tonsild - no chance of getting this!

madonnawhore · 20/04/2011 14:03

I have had a milder version of this since Friday. Have been able to eat small amounts and even come to work but I do feel properly, properly shite. It comes in waves too, so I'll think I'm feeling better and then an hour later I'll be feeling horrendous.

It's the lack of energy and the achy limbs which are the worst things.

Hope we all feel better soon!
