Hi ,2 years ago I was hospitalised with severe pneumonia. I was admitted to HDU as I had complications ,including a large pleural effusion that had to be drained.I am a non smoker with no underlying health problems and it was a shock to become so I'll . It took a long time to recover... I was off work for 6 months, but I am now well. However I still have regular moderate pain in the affected lung, and although my lung function tests are quite good my lung feels stiff.
I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this ,and how long it lasted .

I did wonder about the title! Grin

I think your lung is scarred by the infection. Are you still under a respiratory consultant? If so might be an idea to have a chat with them about it but I doubt there is much they can do
