Back (neck) pain, headache, tight chest. Any ideas?

I feel unwell but not really enough to go to GP. Well I guess I might, just seems lots of things wrong all linked but not making me hugely unwell on their own. Let me list them, maybe you can give me some ideas on what it might be/what might help/whether GP will just laugh at me for being a hypochondriac.

Lower back pain - couple of months. Pulled a muscle/slipped a disc or something few months back, re-occured, and now almost constant but varying level of pain. Not incapacitated just annoying. The odd leg twinge from nerve being aggravated I think.

Tight chest at back - kids had a chesty cough, DS had a chest infection. I have had no bug or coughing, but a tightness/vague pain in lungs/chest (across the back). Tight when I breathe in. Sometimes feels like something needs to 'pop' - not hurting badly just noticeable. 2 weeks?

Shakes/weakness in muscles - again comes and goes. legs shake or hands shake not all the time, when I turn my arm out and bent, and move my arms/go to grab something, I have tremors. Like reaching out for a pencil and writing with it. same with legs - feel weak and if I am sat down and lift my foot up onto tiptoes, legs shake. Sometimes visible, sometimes I just feel it. Occasionally feel a bit like that with my head/neck - had this for about 2 months?

Pain in neck/upper back - spreads across shoulders but appears to be from sine itself, feels like I have been bent over too long and muscles are pulling really tightly, neck 'clicks' and I feel a bit like I am bent over. Pain emulates across shoulders, sometimes down arms (right one mainly). Really painful, especially at night, cannot get comfortable. Eases if I sleep with arms above my head, no pillows - about 1 week? getting worse.

Headache - few days. Not serious headache, can manage with it, and feels related to neck pain. But spread to my eyes/all over head - vaguely migrainy in nature. Rather than pounding. Slightly more sensitive to loud sounds (make me jump!)

Dizziness - two days, for about 10 mins at a time, couple of times in the day. Not fuzzy dizzy, more loss of focus dizzy.

Nausea/sickness - threw up this evening. Not horrendously.

Aches/chills/fever - feel a bit feverish towards the evening, vaguely flu-like, but never really becoming anything. Keep feeling like I am going to get a cold/bug but never gets there.

There. A lot! Like I said, no one of these is trememdously bad on its own apart from today, the neck/headache/sickness is worse. I just don't know if it is something, or just being a bit run down or as simple as having a crap pillow or something!

I think you should go to the doctors just to get checked out. All the things listed sound like they could be virus related, or you may have some kind of infection on your chest that is making you feel generally rough.

Definately worth seeing the gp and getting checked out though.

Keep us updated and let us know how you get on.

You should go and see your GP. I hope you recover quickly, keep us updated though.

Thanks ladies, I have a gp appt tomorrow, will have a chat about it all.

Feel fluey today, slightly sore throat, took a codeine/paracetamol that GP had prescribed for my back a while ago, have some left, and feel much better but still not fab.

Going for a run tomorrow, maybe I just need to start really looking after myself, reduced my coffee intake by 2 cups and drank a camomile tea this evening!

@SchroedingersCat I know this was back in 2011 but did you ever find out what was wrong? Or did you get better?

I'm trawling the internet cause I have a few similar symptoms and drs are struggling to diagnose me. I'm getting a lot of back, neck, shoulder and arm issues as well as dizziness and nausea so I'm suspecting a trapped nerve in neck, but not sure yet. On some days I also get the shaky thing you mention in your OP.
