I do and it's driving me nuts.
Keep getting loads on my cheeks and neck and they take ages to go and then leave a red mark.

yes - especially on my chin (apparently this can be due to hormones). My skin is definitely worse than it was when I was a teenager - I also have loads of spots which look like they are under the top layer of my skin (sounds very attractive doesn't it!).

Ages ago I tried some of the Garnier cream (think it was some sort of vit A Garnier, can't remember the name) which I think was designed for adult skin with spots and I did see some improvement to my skin.

QueenVictoria · 01/11/2005 15:05

I had adult acne.

When i was at school everyone used to comment on how lovely my skin was and how lucky i was.

When i got to about 20/21 it started. It wasnt as bad as some people ive seen but i was very conscious of it all the same.

My GP said that it happens sometimes because children of my generation were having so many AB's it held of the natural upsurgance of spots until later in life. I was prescribed low dose AB's to help, which it did but they came back after i stopped for a few months.

The one thing i found that was absolutely great ive seen advertised on TV recently. It works within 3 weeks. Completely clear skin.
CAT me if you want more details on it. I dont like "advertising" stuff.

QueenVictoria · 01/11/2005 15:06

That should be "held off..."

Dropinthe · 01/11/2005 15:09

Are you talking about Freederm? If you are,I haven't found it worked for me-I too get loads of spots around my jawline which is related to hormones-have always suffered-its the one thing I wish I could clear.

expatinscotland · 01/11/2005 15:11

Way more. That's why I use Proactiv.

I had adult acne so badly I was prescribed Accutane.

Dropinthe · 01/11/2005 15:15

I have never had acne just constant crops of spots in the same place, always worse with PMT but much better with a tan.

QueenVictoria · 01/11/2005 15:30

I have used what expat does. Its brilliant.

You have to do the whole cleanser toner and moisturiser thing morning and night. And it IS expensive but well worth it IMO.

I also found that it cleared up my warts. So i put it on a verucca on my foot and it got rid of that too! Fantastic stuff!

peckarollover · 01/11/2005 15:33

Ooooo me, me, me

I have started getting sore spots along my hair line and my chin is bad too

What should I try Proactiv??

Dropinthe · 01/11/2005 16:15

Link for Proactive plese! Thought it was low a cal spread you were using there!

jodee · 01/11/2005 16:21

QV & Expat, Do you really swear by proactiv? I have used SO MANY different products, chinese medicine, etc. I can't afford to splash out on another quack medicine...can't take Accutane either, unfortunately.

jodee · 01/11/2005 16:23

anyone else get spots on their back? Never had any there until pregnant with ds in 2000. Does proactiv come in a shower gel or something?

nutcackle · 01/11/2005 17:30

Proactiv, right will have a look next time i'm out.

I hate them, makes me feel about 13.

nutcackle · 01/11/2005 19:33

bump

Does it dry your skin out though Expat ??

nutcackle · 01/11/2005 19:50

Whic bits of the range do you use Expat ??? There are some sets on ebay but from what I can see none are sold with facewash.

OP posts:
QueenVictoria · 01/11/2005 21:51

The set i got was the cleanser wash, toner and moisturiser. When the problem was mostly cleared up i just continued with the moisturiser.

It does dry skin a bit but my skin is on the oily side so it suited.

As far as i know its only available on line but i have recently seen jessica simpson (US popstar) advertising it on TV.

HTH

nutcracker · 01/11/2005 21:53

Thanks QV i think that is the set on ebay. It's up for £45, is it really worth that ??

QueenVictoria · 01/11/2005 21:57

I can only say it worked for me. It was recommended by my brothers girlfriend who knows her beauty products. She lent me some of hers (v generous of her!). It helped so i got my own.

AND as a plus from applying to my face the warts on my fingers cleared up too. I cant speak more highly of it.

DinoIsBack · 01/11/2005 22:07

I get really horrid spots now . Have a massive one on my neck that I've had for weeks. I am really self-conscious about it.

nutcracker · 01/11/2005 22:10

It is horrid isn't it Dino. I keep getting them on my jawline and they are so red and sore and take ages to go.

Think i might buy soime when I get paid.

charliecat · 01/11/2005 22:13

yep, my kids draw me with spots

MusicLover · 02/11/2005 10:43

I got teenage spots, & they carried on till until recently (Im 32). I had them on my forehead as a teenager, then as I got abit older, they were all around my mouth & chin. I was prescribed some roll-on to use, which was quite good.
As Ive got older they always appear around the AF time. Around the hairline, chin etc, & they could be very sore sometimes. I even had white ones under the skin also.
But 1 year ago I started to take evening primrose & omega 3's, although it took a couple of months to kick in, my spots don't come any more, apart from the odd one.

So I swear by them, it beats any creams, washes, & lotions I've tried.
