Bleeding whilst bf'ing .. I thought periods stop? Is this ok?

dd is 22 wks and is ebf.

On Christmas day and then again yesterday I have noticed blood when going to the toilet.

Is this ok?

it depends what the cause of the bleeding is... is it when you pass urine that you notice blood? any pain?

Yesterday I had no blood in my knickers, only when I was passing urine.

I have had stomach pains when bending over for months now, makes me feel nauseous, and have been to the doctor a few times about it but they haven't discovered the cause. I have been given tablets for gastro retention I think but they didn't work buy the pain doesn't come as often now. Not sure if that is related.

what tests did they do?

Trust me, periods don't stop forever. DD1 they started again at 4 montsh, DD2 at 9 but my friend gor pregnant when her bf DD was 6 weeks old!

However, it doesn't necessarily sound like it is your period.

well i would suggest an ultrasound at the very least if you're having persistent abdo pains... the bleeding sounds minor but linked with the abdo pain, needs investigating.

if the bleeding is only being noticed when you're urinating, it could be you have a uti so a urine test would be reasonable also.

period wise, you can start menstruating again at any time while breastfeeding.
