Weird bulk in front of throat

I am really worried as my mum had thyroid cancer. Got Docs apptmt today.

My mum said my throat looked bigger and slightly different shape about a year ago. I pooh poohed her.

For the last month or so, I've been unable to read in bed sitting up because I can't tilt my head downwards as at first it just felt umcomfy and now it hurts.

It's from the base of my tongue to halfway down my throat. Weirdly numb and achy at same time. It's not in my throat but in front of it.

I'm petrified!

most people survive thyroid cancer. been there done that and its not as horrific as other cancers.

Thank you for reassuring words. I'm having blood tests next week to test dor thyroid issues and a scan to identify any other issues when they can fit me in.

chances are it's a goiter which is usually entirely benign.

Something growing slowly as yours has is less likely to be a cancer. Also on the upside, my SIL has just had a her 5 year anniversary of beating thyroid cancer.
